With ambidextrous controls, both right- and left-handed shooters can easily operate this handgun. The durable polymer frame boasts an extended Picatinny rail for up to 5.6-oz. attachments and a proprietary captive flat guide rod for enhanced control. Additionally, the included option for an optics-ready slide cut with cap (plate adapter not included) and a high-visibility front sight paired with a serrated black rear sight ensures quick and instinctive aiming.
H&K History
In 2014, the VP9 was first introduced as a gun with features such as a striker-fired mechanism, locked breech, and “Browning type” tilt barrel. It also has a Picatinny rail. The HK VP9 is also known as the SFP9-SF by the factory. Despite being the same gun, the HK VP9 had to undergo changes in Germany in order to comply with trigger system regulations. These modifications resulted in a different factory designation, the SFP9-TR. The VP9 has a polymer frame and includes an ambidextrous magazine release, a left-handed slide release, and a trigger safety. It also has drift only dovetail sights, with the option to have tritium for visibility in low light situations. Additional safety features include a “loaded chamber” indicator that turns red when a round is chambered, located at the rear of the ejection port.
