Wilson Combat’s EDC X9
The upgraded version of Wilson Combat’s EDC X9 handgun is the SFX9, featuring a solid frame unlike its predecessor. Although its flat-sided frame may resemble a Glock, the ergonomics of the grip are similar to a 1911. As a single-action semi-automatic with a manual thumb safety, the SFX9 stays true to its 1911-style roots. However, like the EDC X9, it lacks a grip safety. The pistol’s trigger was outstanding, the sights were ideal for quick defensive work, and the action cycled smoothly.
Are Wilson Combat Pistols Worth The Money?
During testing, we found ourselves using the SFX9 extensively due to our enjoyment of its performance. Despite experiencing two failures to feed after approximately 450 rounds, we realized that the pistol had not been lubricated at all since the start of the testing process. After applying gun oil, we fired another 200 rounds without any issues.
Are Wilson Combat Barrels Any Good?
Yes, Wilson Combat barrels are considered to be of high quality and are highly regarded by gun enthusiasts and professionals. They are made from premium materials and are precision crafted to provide superior accuracy and reliability. Many users praise their smooth shooting, tight groupings, and overall excellent performance.
Out of all the handguns we tested, the SFX9 was considered the most suitable for concealed carry and had the best shooter interface. It also excelled in defensive drills. In terms of overall construction quality, it was on par with the Korth Revolver. While it may be pricier than other options, its performance and durability justify the cost, making it our top pick for handgun of the year.
