Springfield Armory Prodigy is a version of the iconic 1911 that has been enhanced with a larger capacity and a range of features designed for improved performance. It is available with two different magazine capacities, 17+1 and 20+1. The double stack magazine feeds into a 4.25-inch bull barrel with a precision 11-degree crown for exceptional accuracy.

1911 Reliability

Cerakote

The most user-friendly coating, known as Cerakote, is a polymer-ceramic compound that can be applied to various materials including wood, polymers, plastics, and metal. It is also water-resistant and can withstand scratches and dings caused by impact. Additionally, Cerakote is available in a wide range of colors.

Forged Steel

The Prodigy is an impressive combination of traditional 1911 design and modern technology. The ambidextrous manual thumb safety is also long and wide enough for easy operation without being cumbersome.

AOS Optics Mounting System

The Prodigy also includes the AOS optics mounting system to accommodate a variety of popular red dot sights. It is clear that practicality and functionality were key factors in the design of the Prodigy.
